The intro text for this event varies, and could be any of the following:
- Aided by a modified translator, a nearby Lanius scavenger ship messages you, saying, "Metal sufficient. Request exchange." It appears there are some Lanius who wish sociable interaction with other races.
- A small Lanius craft approaches. You prepare for a fight but they do not seem to be carrying any weapons. After a brief moment they message you, although your translator struggles with the unfamiliar dialect. It appears they wish to trade.
- You arrive to find a large Lanius vessel laden with recently collected metal. They are apparently offering to trade for supplies they are lacking.
- Agree to the exchange. [ the actual trade offer is shown ]
- Decline.
- They leave without a word.
- Nothing happens.
- They leave without a word.
- (Lanius Crew) Ask for an alternative trade.
- After a short discussion you do not understand, the trader comes back with a second proposal.
Trivia[]
This event is called "LANIUS_TRADER" in the datafiles.
- This event offers similar trades to the Lanius merchant with improved translator event but does not have an option to get a Lanius named Translator, as suggested by the intro texts. Instead, a blue option to get a better trade is present on this event.
- Using the Lanius blue option will make a different resource and price roll: a player can get a far better price for the the same resource or receive an offer to trade a different resource; the outcome could potentially be less beneficial as well.
